What Is Nottingham Nature Nook?

Nottingham Nature Nook (“the Nook”) is an organization for people interested in:

  • Continually educating themselves and the general public about wildlife, especially those species with the most unintentional human/animal interaction: birds, deer, groundhogs, foxes, rabbits, raccoons, and squirrels.
  • Nottingham Nature Nook is a wildlife rehabilitation center that raises and releases wildlife babies and cares for injured adults. We also work to educate the public about the wildlife around them through our Kids4Nature program.Supporting and aiding orphaned wildlife babies and injured adults through the use of wildlife rehabilitators.
  • Educating the public as to when help is needed and when it is not, and what immediate steps to take.
  • Becoming stewards of nature who protect, enhance and develop a more intimate relationship with nature

Why should we care about helping wildlife?

Saving Life

Quite simply because it is the “right” thing to do! It is something we do without thinking because saving another life comes straight from the heart.

Reconnect

When we save or care for a wild creature we reconnect with the universal life energy.

Feed Our Spirits

By saving these fragile creatures we feed our own fragile spirits.

Kindness

In one small act of kindness we make a huge difference in the life of another being.
